When it comes to creating engaging and interactive presentations, visual elements alone might not always cut it. Sometimes, you need to incorporate audio to enhance your message or captivate your audience. While Google Slides doesn't have a direct feature for adding sounds to individual slides, you can work around this limitation by embedding audio or video files from Google Drive. In this blog post, we'll walk you through the steps to seamlessly integrate audio into your Google Slides presentation.
Step 1: Prepare Your Audio File Before diving into your presentation, ensure your audio file is ready to go. You'll want to uload it to Google Drive if it's not already there. Make sure the file's sharing settings are adjusted so that it's accessible by anyone with the link or specific people you intend to share it with.

Step 2: Select the Slide and Insert Audio Choose the specific slide where you want to incorporate the audio. Click on "Insert" in the top menu.
Step 3: Embed the Audio from Google Drive In the "Insert" menu, select "Video." This might seem counterintuitive, but it's the method we use to embed audio as well.
Step 4: Locate Your Audio File A panel labeled "Insert video" will appear. Click on the "Google Drive" tab within this panel.

Step 5: Search and Select Your Audio File Use the search bar to find your audio file in Google Drive. Once you locate it, click to select it.
Step 6: Confirm and Adjust Click the "Select" button to confirm your choice. You can now see the audio file embedded in your slide. Feel free to resize and reposition it to suit your slide's design.

While Google Slides doesn't offer a direct sound insertion feature, you can still enhance your presentations with audio elements by creatively embedding audio or video files from Google Drive or by adding hyperlinks to external sound sources. These workarounds can add depth and engagement to your slides, ensuring your audience experiences a more immersive and impactful presentation. As technology evolves, keep an eye out for any new features or updates from Google that may simplify the process of adding sounds directly to your Google Slides in the future.
