Cursor + MagicSlides MCP

Make a spreadsheet with Cursor

Cursor's agent can walk the routes folder of your open repo and list every endpoint with its auth, rate limit and test coverage. With the MagicSlides MCP server, that inventory is saved as a spreadsheet instead of a long chat message.

Set up MagicSlides in Cursor (one time)

Use the one-click link, or paste this into your Cursor MCP config.

~/.cursor/mcp.json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "magicslides": {
      "url": "https://www.magicslides.app/api/mcp/mcp"
    }
  }
}
  1. 1.Click the install link, or open Settings → Tools & MCP → Add Custom MCP and paste the JSON.
  2. 2.Click Connect next to magicslides and log in with MagicSlides.
  3. 3.Ask the agent for a deck in chat. It calls MagicSlides and returns the links.

Example: what you type in Cursor

You

Go through @src/routes and list every endpoint: method, path, handler, auth, rate limit, request body, response type, and whether it has a test. Save it as a MagicSlides sheet.

Cursor
  • Read every file in the @-mentioned src/routes folder
  • Matched each route to its auth middleware and rate limit config
  • Checked the test folder for a test per handler
  • Called create_sheet with 13 rows (header plus 12 endpoints)

The endpoint inventory is saved as a MagicSlides sheet with 12 endpoints. Three have no tests, including GET /v1/orders/:id, which has no test for the ownership check.

This is the real output from that prompt, made with the MagicSlides MCP. Open it to click through or download it.

How it works

  1. 1.Add magicslides to ~/.cursor/mcp.json with the url https://www.magicslides.app/api/mcp/mcp
  2. 2.Log in with MagicSlides when Cursor connects to the server
  3. 3.In Agent mode, @-mention your routes folder and ask for an endpoint inventory sheet
  4. 4.Open the editor link and share it with QA or security review

Tool used: create_sheet. Prefer a web app? AI spreadsheet generator does the same without an agent.

FAQ

Does Cursor need the whole repo open?

Agent mode reads the open repo. @-mention the routes folder so it starts in the right place.

Can it flag endpoints without tests?

Yes. Ask it to check your test folder for each handler and add a Tests column, as in this example.

How do I open the sheet?

Use the editor link it returns. It opens in MagicSlides after you sign in.

Is there a faster way to install the server?

Yes. Use the one-click install link for Cursor instead of editing mcp.json by hand.
